Sorry, but we don't have any accommodation near Ponts
As a strategic enclave, Ponts has been inhabited by peoples such as the Iberians, Romans and Saracens. The first written documents in which the municipality is mentioned are from the year 982. If you like vintage cars, be sure to visit the Francesc Boncompte Museum where you will find motorcycles and a collection of weapons from different eras . Don't miss the Rose Festival where traditional events such as the Ballet de Déu dance are held.
Popular traditions are deeply rooted in Ponts. One of the most emblematic festivals is the Festa del Rancho. It is a gastronomic festival that has medieval origins. On Shrove Tuesday, cauldrons are prepared in which rancho is cooked, a meal based on chickpeas, beans, sausage and potatoes that was once served to the poor and destitute. During the day, a multitudinous lunch is organized, enlivened by numerous animation groups.
In Carrer Major de Ponts you can see preserved medieval sheds. You must also see the Romanesque church of Sant Pere. It dates from the 11th century and was the seat of an Augustinian congregation. Near Carrer Major is Mas de n'Olives, a set of prehistoric engravings made up of 81 human figures. On the road that connects Ponts with Artesa de Segre is the Dàdila tower, a medieval watchtower dating from the 11th century.
