The first written documents that refer to Orpí are from the year 978. During part of its history it was under the rule of Cardona. Popular culture and traditions are deeply rooted in this population. Every year the Aplec de les Bresques is celebrated. It is an event where artisans exhibit products made with honey or derivatives. Don't stop tasting them. They are delicious!
Walking through Orpí you can see different buildings of great interest. We recommend that you approach the castle of Orpí, a 12th-century construction whose polygonal base tower and entrance arches have been preserved. Very close is the church of Sant Miquel d'Orpí, the old chapel of the castle and which still preserves Romanesque elements. Be sure to visit the church of Santa Càndia, a Gothic building from the 14th century that has been renovated several times.
Orpí is in the middle of the Riera de Carme valley. This makes its natural environment lush in vegetation with a clear predominance of bushes and trees such as almond trees or vines. From the center of the town, there are different paths and trails that can be done both on foot and by mountain bike and that lead into agricultural fields and places of great beauty.
