The first historical references to Olius are from the 10th century. During the Carline Wars it suffered serious damage. If you climb the fortress of Castellvell you can enjoy splendid views of the region. Gastronomy is another of the town's attractions, you must try the sausage on the slab or the hare stew with mushrooms.
Olius has an important historical heritage. Walking through the town you can see the church of Sant Esteve, a Romanesque construction from the 11th century. The building has a single nave with an apse and a crypt. Its main altar stands out, which has six columns and three small naves. Its bell tower is from the 16th century. Very close by is the modernist cemetery, a project from 1916 that has the particularity that the deceased are buried inside the rock.
A good way to discover landscapes of great interest is to go on excursions through the neighboring towns. The presence of springs throughout its territory stands out. Some of the best known are the Frares fountain which is in an oak esplanade or the Llobató fountain which has water of exceptional quality. Be sure to visit the Sant Ponç marsh, a place of great interest where you will find a recreation area.
