What can you do in Montmajor and its Holiday cottages?

Montmajor is a town of medieval origin that is made up of different population centers. Around the whole term you will find elements and medieval buildings such as the Montmajor castle, the church of Our Lady of the Torreta or the old paintings of Aguilar. There are also many signposted routes that can be done on foot or by mountain bike. Be sure to try the local cuisine based on traditional Catalan dishes. We recommend the dishes based on mushrooms, one of the local specialties.

Visit the Museu d'Art del Bolet

The tradition of mushroom picking is deeply rooted throughout the Berguedà region. In fact, during the autumn many mushroom pickers approach the forests of Montmajor to collect the different species of mushrooms that grow in the area. To pay tribute to this tradition, in Plaça del Mercat you can find the el Museu d'Art del Bolet, a space in which 523 figures that refer to the world of mushrooms are exhibited.

Take a field trip

Agriculture is one of the main economic activities in Montmajor. Throughout the term you will find cultivated fields especially of cereals such as wheat and barley. You can take advantage of your stay to go on a trip to the fields and discover the various scattered farmhouses that are a testament to the town's rural past and present.
