The history of Llanars and its surroundings

Llanars is mentioned for the first time in 1027, when it belonged to the jurisdiction of the Count of Barcelona. It is known that Ramon Berenguer III, in 1118, gave the monastery of Santa Maria de Ripoll some land in the municipality, but continues to exercise royal jurisdiction over it. Already in the 17th century, during the siege of Camprodon, the fact occurred that the Duke of Noailles, who led the French troops who besieged and took Camprodon during the War of the Great Alliance (1688-1697), established - there is its headquarters in the town.
