The old name of the town was Vilanova del Pi, however, due to the presence of wolves in the area it was renamed Gratallops. Wine tourism is one of the main economic activities. All over its territory you will find wineries that make wine entirely by hand. You can't miss the Tasting with Wolves, an event held in May that allows you to taste some of the wines produced in the municipality.

Many hiking routes pass through Gratallops that cover the entire Priorat. Many are signposted and have a very low level of difficulty, which is why you can do them comfortably with the family.

Visit their wineries

The municipality of Gratallops is one of the main points of origin of the wine renaissance in the Priorat region. In fact, there are more than twenty wineries that produce highly prestigious wines both nationally and internationally. One of the best known wineries is that of Clos Mogador which was founded by René Barbier. If you visit their facilities you will be able to see what the entire harvest process is like and do a tasting of their wines.

Discover its urban center

The urban core of Gratallops still preserves cobbled streets and manor houses with gabled portals. One of the most emblematic buildings is the church of Sant Llorenç. Its style is neoclassical and it was built in the 18th century. You must also see the Casa dels Frares, a building that stands out for its Renaissance portal.
