Taste the xató

Vendrell's gastronomy stands out for using high-quality and local ingredients. One of the most well-known dishes is the xató. It is a sauce based on ingredients such as almonds, bread, vinegar, garlic, oil or salt that accompanies a salad of cod, tuna and anchovies. Xató is very popular throughout the Baix Penedès and Garraf region. There are many restaurants that participate in the xató route, a gastronomic event where you can taste not only xató but also other dishes such as coca enramada or rostes.

On the beach of Sant Salvador is the Pau Casals Museum. A neoclassical building with sea views that organizes numerous activities related to the famous musician. In 2020 it was declared a Museum of National Interest.

Enjoy the sea

In Vendrell you will find three beaches that are recognized for the quality of their waters. Specifically, they are that of Coma-ruga, the Francàs and Sant Salvador. The sand on these beaches is very fine and they are also shallow, which is why they are perfect if you are looking to swim with the children.
