Corbera d'Ebre is a town that has become a symbol of peace. During the Battle of the Ebro it was practically in ruins and its inhabitants had to rebuild it. As a sign of these facts, the ruins of the Old Town are still preserved. It is also the starting point of the route that joins different towns that were part of the Battle of the Ebro such as Fatarella, Pinell de Brai or Vilalba dels Arcs.

Stroll through the Poble Vell

Located in one of the highest parts of the municipality, you will find the Poble Vell de Corbera. Declared an Asset of Cultural Interest by the Generalitat, it is a clear witness to the atrocities committed during the Spanish Civil War. Walking through its abandoned streets, you can see how the destruction is reflected in its ruined houses. One of the buildings that is still standing is the església parroquial de Sant Pere, a building that dates from the 18th century.

One of the objectives of the museum is to make known what life was like in this area for both the military and civilians during the Battle of the Ebre. Inside its facilities you will see different sections that will transport you to moments of the battle where you will be able to know first hand the hardest moments.
