The first written references to Collbató are from the year 1113. However, the first human settlements are from the Paleolithic era. In 1357 it became part of the abbey of Montserrat. In its historic center you can see Cal Tutor. It is a stately house that dates from the 18th century and was the residence of the representative of the abbey of Montserrat. Another very prominent building is Can Rogent. An old manor house that has a library with more than 12000 books.

All around Collbató there are numerous routes that allow you to see forests and views of the Montserrat mountain. Some of the best known are the Camí de Sant Jeroni or the Camí de la Vinya Nova.

Montserrat is one of the best-known places in all of Catalonia. From Collbató you can take a route that takes you all the way to the magical mountain. We suggest what happens along the Camí de les Feixades. This trail is part of the GR-5. The route passes places such as the Salnitre caves or the Santa Cova hermitage. In addition, while you make the ascent to the monastery you can enjoy magnificent views of Collbató and the Baix Llobregat.

Within the interior of Montserrat Mountain are the Salnitre caves. It is a 400-metre route in which you can see geological formations such as stalactites, stalagmites or columns.
