Signs of human presence have been found in Bonastre from the Neolithic period. However, it was not until the twelfth century when, once the Saracen invasion was over, the municipality began to be populated. One of the best-known buildings in Bonastre is the parish church of Santa Magdalena. Its style is baroque and it was renovated by the architect Josep Maria Jujol.
