Signs of human presence have been found in Bonastre from the Neolithic period. However, it was not until the twelfth century when, once the Saracen invasion was over, the municipality began to be populated. One of the best-known buildings in Bonastre is the parish church of Santa Magdalena. Its style is baroque and it was renovated by the architect Josep Maria Jujol. If you walk through the town center you must see the house of Delme, one of the oldest in the municipality.
If you want to do activities in nature, you can go hiking in the Protected Natural Area of the Massís de Bonastre. Bonastre also has an equestrian center where equestrian shows are held.
Formed by a set of low and rounded mountains, the Protected Natural Area of the Massís de Bonastre is perfect for hiking. You have numerous signposted routes that you can do on foot or by mountain bike. On the other hand, if you like caving or climbing you will find areas enabled for their practice.
Vine cultivation is one of Bonastre's main economic activities. The wineries of the municipality organize various wine tours where they introduce their wines and cavas. We recommend that you visit the Partida Creus winery or the Sicus Terrers Mediterranis winery.
