The beaches of the Costa Dorada are ideal for enjoying the sun and the sea. Costa Dorada means Golden Coast, and it is due to the golden colors of the sand of its beaches when the sun shines on it. Its beaches stand out for their crystal-clear waters, fine sand, and shallow depths. Many of these are located in natural environments of great beauty, where you can enjoy moments of calm and disconnect from daily tensions. From Naturaki, we recommend some of the best beaches of the Costa Dorada.
1. Muntanyans Beach (Torredembarra)

Integrated into the Natura 2000 Network, Muntanyans Beach is part of the protected natural area of Torredembarra and Creixell. It stands out for preserving natural dunes and marshes that are not found in other areas of the Catalan coast. On this beach, besides sunbathing like a lizard and swimming in the sea, you can go hiking and observe some of the protected species of native animals and plants.
2. Capellans Beach (Tarragona)

Capellans Beach is located between the towns of Tarragona and Salou, and close to PortAventura World, an amusement park that, in our opinion, is one of the 10 places to visit in the province of Tarragona. This beach is delimited by natural cliffs. Its sand is very fine and the entrance to the sea has little slope, making it ideal for children and people with reduced mobility to swim without worry.
3. Coma-ruga Beach (El Vendrell)

If you are looking for a long beach where you can spread out your towel in complete tranquility, you should visit Coma-ruga Beach. It is 2.3 kilometers long and more than 100 meters wide. This beach has the distinctive Blue Flag, a label that indicates it is equipped with all necessary services and that its waters are of high quality. As a curiosity, you should know that thermal waters spring up near the beach, and that has given it the certification of a thermal destination.
4. Waikiki Beach (Tarragona)

Located between Altafulla and Tarragona, this beach is one of the most attractive on the Tarragona coast. It stands out for its very fine sand and its waters that are quite shallow, allowing children to swim safely. Although it is a well-known spot, it is far from crowded places. Additionally, it is surrounded by the Marquesa forest, a pine forest where you can protect yourself from the sun and have a picnic. Without a doubt, Waikiki Beach is a little paradise surrounded by nature!
5. Ponent Beach (Salou)

Very close to the Salou Yacht Club is Ponent Beach. If you are traveling in a group, whether with family or friends, on this beach you will find a wide range of facilities and amenities. You will also find plenty of opportunities for all kinds of water activities for all ages. After a day at the beach, there is nothing better than strolling peacefully along the Salou promenade, where you will find many dining options to suit all tastes and budgets for a good meal.
6. Arenal Beach (Vandellòs and Hospitalet de l'Infant)

Another wonderful beach for family travel is Arenal Beach. It is the largest in Hospitalet de l'Infant with almost two kilometers in length. You can access it very easily from the promenade. During the summer, it offers daycare service and many children's activities are organized. Its waters are transparent and very shallow. While the little ones are entertained and supervised, adults can make the most of it and practice sports such as paddle surfing, kayaking, and windsurfing.
7. Sant Jordi Cove (L'Ametlla de Mar)

Would you like to bathe at the feet of an ancient Templar castle? Sant Jordi Cove has a peculiar beauty. On one side, you can see the Sant Jordi de Alfama castle, a building dating back to the 12th century. On the other hand, the cove is located in a protected natural environment where you will feel like you are facing the open sea. Here you will find all amenities such as showers, toilets, or children's areas. There is also a pine forest where you can shelter from the sun or have a picnic. If you enjoy water sports, you can rent kayaks, water scooters or go scuba diving.
8. Cap Roig Beach (El Perelló)

On this beach, you can enjoy the sun and the sea in a natural environment surrounded by pine trees and cliffs just two kilometers from l'Ampolla de Mar. It has dimensions of 190 meters in length with very calm and shallow waters, making it a regular destination for family tourism. The beach has all the amenities such as lifeguard, showers, and hammock rental. For water sports enthusiasts, at the l'Ampolla Nautical Club you can hire activities such as windsurfing, canoeing, or jet skiing.
9. Fangar Beach (Deltebre)

If you are looking for a place to hike and swim in the sea, don't miss Fangar Beach. It is located on the tip of Fangar, a peninsula of 410 hectares with a semi-desert appearance. It stands out for its well-preserved dunes and natural sands. It is an ideal place to enjoy unique views of the Ebro Delta. We recommend you visit the Fangar lighthouse, also known as La Faroleta. This lighthouse is one of the emblems of the Delta and is the only place where you will find shade in the area. Therefore, if you plan a beach day, it is highly recommended that you bring an umbrella to protect yourself from the sun.
10. Trabucador Beach (Sant Carles de la Ràpita)

Would you like to see unique sunsets? If you are in the area, Trabucador Beach is a must-visit. It is an oasis of tranquility formed by a large sand barrier that divides the beach into two parts: the outer part where you can swim in the Mediterranean Sea and the inner part with access to the Bay of Alfacs. This area has very shallow depths and will allow you to walk hundreds of meters into the sea without the water covering you. The shallow depth of its waters allows for the practice of many water activities such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, and paddle surfing.
