What can you do in Vilamòs and its Holiday cottages?

Vilamòs is considered the oldest municipality in the Vall d'Aran. Walking through its streets you will be able to see Casa Joanchiquet, a stately home that houses an ethnological museum where many guided tours are organized and where you can hear live music. The passage of the Garona river allows you to practice fishing. On the other hand, the gastronomy is based on local cuisine. Be sure to try the rabbit with mustard or the wild boar civet.

Take a trip to Era Bordeta

Vilamòs is surrounded by paths and trails that invite you to go on excursions. We recommend that you go to Era Bordeta, a small village that is surrounded by meadows and forests. It has a recreation area and offers exceptional views of the Maladeta glaciers. You can also do the old Camin Reiau that goes to Es Bòrdes and passes over the Arròs bridge on the Barradòs river.

Visit the parish church of Santa Maria

Vilamòs has an important Romanesque heritage. One of the most important buildings is the parish church of Santa Maria. It dates from the 11th century and its style is primitive Romanesque. Inside you will find a sink of holy water that dates from the 12th century and is decorated with fleurs-de-lis. On the outskirts of the town is the chapel of Sant Miquèu. Its Romanesque style is very primitive and simple and it is one of the oldest churches in the Vall d'Aran.
