The town's history is linked to the monastery of Sant Llorenç, where several monks lived who followed Visigothic canonical rules. Local products are very popular in the region. Don't miss tasting the cakes, the cakes or the trebuchet balls, delicious almond-based confits.
Walking through the town center you will see that much of its medieval structure is still preserved, such as the old walls. From Carrer Major you can reach one of the most important buildings in Sant Llorenç de Morunys, specifically the Romanesque church, which was built on top of an old monastery and houses important Gothic and Baroque altarpieces. Very close to the church is the Vall de Lord Museum and the chapel of Our Lady of the Angels.
The natural surroundings of Sant Llorenç de Morunys invite you to do all kinds of outdoor activities throughout the year. During autumn you can take the opportunity to walk through its forests and pick mushrooms. During the rest of the year you can walk or cycle one of the marked routes. One of the most well-known is the one that goes up to the Colla de la Creu and passes by the Romanesque church of Santa Creu d'Ollers. Since the town is very close to the ski resorts of Port del Comte, in winter you can enjoy the snow on its ski slopes.
