Sallent has been populated since ancient times. You must visit the Iberian town of Cogulló, which was inhabited from the end of the Bronze Age until the 1st century BC. The village is surrounded by paths that allow you to discover hermitages and churches of great historical value.

Experience the Festival of the Enramadas

Popular culture is deeply rooted in Sallent. Throughout the year, parties of great interest are organized. One of the best known is the Festa de les Enramades. During this event, every street in the town is decorated with a different theme. Music concerts and popular dances are also organized. Another popular festival is the Carnestoltes, one of the best known in Central Catalonia.

Visit the religious architecture

Sallent has an important religious heritage. The church of Sant Sebastià del Castell, a round Romanesque building, is well known. You should also visit the church of Sant Pere and Sant Martí de Serraïma from the 11th century or that of Santa Maria de Cornet which was expanded in the 17th century with the bell tower and side chapels. Another very interesting building is the old house of the Torres Amat family. It is a baroque building from the 17th century that is currently a museum.
