The jewel of Salàs is located in the heart of the old town, more specifically in Plaça del Mercat , which has magnificent porches and from where you can start the guided tour of the Shops Museu de Salàs de Pallars on a tour of a hour and forty-five minutes through time, during the century from 1870 to 1970.

The town maintains its structure as a medieval walled town almost intact and it is possible to admire the access portals to the old walled enclosure and four of the 6 towers that surrounded it. It is known that most of the houses that are preserved in Salàs were connected through cellars, which had been used as hiding places and secret passages in times of war.

It is worth visiting the hermitage of Sant Pere Màrtir on the outskirts of the town, on the hill of the same name, 807.4 meters high and from where you can enjoy spectacular views.

On the other hand, in the abandoned village of Sensui, 3 kilometers from Salàs, you can visit the church of Santa Bárbara de Sensui , a Romanesque temple from the 11th century, in a very good state of conservation.

 

From Salàs de pallars numerous paths start for hiking through churches, fountains and small churches.

All kinds of water sports can be practiced at the Sant Antoni and Piolet reservoirs, and the Piolet reservoir has a swimming area.

It should be noted that in November, the Day of Remembrance of the Fira de Salàs is celebrated where the protagonist is the horse and there are dressage demonstrations. This celebration revolves around the round-footed cattle fair that Salàs had hosted for more than 600 years and until 1960, being one of the most important on the peninsula and where cattlemen came from all over to buy mules.
