The history of Pratdip dates back to the 12th century. In 1846 it suffered a strong earthquake that affected many buildings. Pratdip still maintains a historic core that recalls a past full of splendor. One of the most outstanding elements is its castle. It is located in one of the highest areas of the municipality and has been declared a Cultural Property of National Interest. Near the castle you can see the parish church of Santa Maria. It was restored in 1959 and combines the Gothic style with a Romanesque portal.
