Remains of human settlement from the Paleolithic and Neolithic times have been found. One of the greatest exponents of this prehistoric legacy is the Pedra Llarga menhir, a megalithic monument more than 2.5 meters high. The farmhouses are also part of the rural landscape of Palau-solità and Plegamans. The most important are Can Clasellas and Ca l'Abundancia which date from the 13th century.

Discover its medieval past

The origins of Palau-solità and Plegamans are linked to two parishes. Specifically, the one of Sant Genís de Plegamans which dates from the year 962 and the one of Santa Maria de Palau-solità which is from the year 955. You must also visit the House of Commons, a council house in which the conflicts of the old town. Another very relevant building is the castle of Plegamans. An 11th century building that was restored between 1988 and 1992.

If you want to learn more about the town's medieval past, you must visit the Medieval and Craft Market. It is held during the month of April and offers numerous musical shows and a display of ancient trades.

Take a train ride

One of the most emblematic spaces in Palau-solità i Plegamans is the Parc de l'Hostal del Fum. It is a site of 35,000 square meters that has numerous attractions for both children and adults. We recommend that you take a tour on their railway. It is 3.1 kilometers long and allows you to comfortably discover all the corners of the park.
