The beginnings of Oliola go back to the year 1035, when it was colonized. In 1496 it was sold to the Duke of Cardona. The center of the town is made up of narrow streets and houses with stone facades, which give the town a completely rural appearance. If you approach the remains of the old castle you will have magnificent views of the whole town. The Summer Festival is worth experiencing, an event in which numerous activities are organized for adults and children.

The Llobregós valley, a unique space to enjoy nature

One of the main attractions of Oliola is its natural environment. In the Llobregós valley you can do a wide variety of outdoor activities. Throughout the territory you will find signposted hiking routes that will allow you to discover the most isolated areas of Lleida. There are also small mountain elevations from where you can enjoy splendid tours of the entire region.

Visit its religious buildings

Oliola has an important religious heritage. The church of Sant tirs stands out, a Romanesque building from the 11th century that was extended during the 18th century. Be sure to visit the church of Santa Maria de la Serra de Castellar, a single-nave building with the construction characteristics of 12th century Catalan architecture. Also of interest are the church of Santa Magdalena dels Arquells or the chapel of Sant Joan de Mas d'en Trilla.
