Human remains from the Bronze and Iron Ages have been found in the Muricecs cave. However, the first written documents that refer to Llimiana are from the year 954. Precisely in this area is the Terradets gorge, a place where there are routes for climbing.

Discover its medieval buildings

Llimiana is a very picturesque town that still retains many of its medieval monuments and buildings. One of the most relevant buildings is the church of Santa Maria. It is a Romanesque building from the 11th century that has three naves. It stands out because in its crypt it houses the image of Sant Salvador del Bosc.
