The first written references to l'Ametlla del Vallès are from the 9th century. Currently, industry is the main economic activity of the municipality. Visit its religious monuments

Religious architecture is deeply rooted in Ametlla del Vallès. One of the most emblematic buildings is the church of Sant Genís. It was built in 906 and has a Romanesque style. However, during the 17th century it was extended in a baroque style. Its plan is of the basilica type and the apse is covered with a barrel vault. Inside is a carved stone baptismal font dating from the 16th century. Another very relevant building is the hermitage of Sant Nicolau.
