A little history of the town where your holiday cottage is located
The origin of the Pobla de Segur is, like most of the towns in the region, medieval in the time of the reconquest, after the Saracen domination. The town is located on the site where the
castle of Segur used to be, while three kilometers further on, there was the small town of
Puig de Segur . It was in the s.
XIII when the town of La Pobla de Segur was founded and the inhabitants of Puig de Segur moved to the surroundings of the castle.
La Pobla belonged to the
viscounty of Vilamur , one of the feudal jurisdictions of the county of Pallars and towards the
15th century, it passed into the hands of the
Cardona clan , who held it until the end of the old regime. It was also in the 15th century when the town was consolidated with
its own market .
