What can you do in Golmés and its Holiday cottages?

Golmés was conquered by the Saracens in 1079. The town underwent a major transformation in 1862 with the construction of the Urgell canal. One of the most crowded events in Golmés is the Festa de les Cassoles. In this celebration, the residents gather to cook cassola de tros, a typical dish of the region made with rabbit, spinach and snails.

Discover its historical heritage

The streets of the old town of Golmés are narrow and cobbled. One of its main attractions is that it preserves many buildings from past centuries. Be sure to visit the parish church of Sant Salvador. It is a building that is built on an old Arab fortification. It stands out for the combination of styles of its architectural elements. On the one hand, its facade is neoclassical. On the other hand, inside you will find Ionic capitals and a rich decoration. You must also see the termo cross, of Gothic origin that was replaced in 1969.

Visit the jump of Duran

Golmés has different natural spaces of great interest. A very well-known area is Salto del Duran. It is a 4.5 meter waterfall at the edge of which there is an area full of trees and a spring from which fresh water flows. There are paths all over the place that can be done on foot or by bike.
