Sorry, but we don't have any accommodation near Garòs
Formerly, Garòs was attached to Arties. Walking through its historic center you will see medieval buildings in perfect condition. Its Romanesque church dating from the 12th century stands out. Very close by is an ancient necropolis where Paleo-Christian remains have been found. On the other hand, the natural surroundings of the town allow you to take hiking routes on foot or by bike with the family.
The Romanesque has left a great mark on the Vall d'Aran. In Garòs, the church of Sant Julià is one of the most representative buildings of this architectural style. The building has a single nave with side chapels. Although its style is Romanesque, it was reformed between the 14th and 15th centuries. One of the most representative elements is the Renaissance-style wrought iron door. The main altar is in the Baroque style and dates from 1776
The gastronomy of Garòs is based on traditional home cooking dishes prepared with local ingredients. One of the most representative dishes is the Aranese pot. In fact, it is one of the few boiled dishes that is still documented today. Be sure to try the pâtés, the crepes, or one of the tastiest fish in the region, specifically the trout.
