The toponym of Fondarella comes from the Arabic word funduc, which means alfondic. During the month of June, the Mostra d'Oficii is organized. In this event you will be able to see past trades such as the blacksmith, the reed maker or the shoemaker among others. In addition, there are stalls with artisanal products such as cheeses or ratafia.

Do the Sierra route

From Fondarella there are several paths that cross the neighboring towns and that you can do both on foot and by bike. One of the most well-known is the Serra route that passes through municipalities such as Torregrossa or Miralcamp. You can do the route by bicycle while observing a unique rural landscape.

Stroll through the old town

In the historic center of Fondarella there are several buildings of great interest. The parish church of Santa Maria, a building of Romanesque origin that was reformed in the 15th century, is a must-see. One of the most outstanding elements is its wall bell tower that has three openings. On the other hand, there is also a group of old houses dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. Some of the best known are Cal Combelles or Cal Renyer. On the outskirts of the town you will find the chapel of Sant Sebastià, an 18th century building.
