The beginnings of Castellví de la Marca go back to the 10th century. Throughout its history it has been in the hands of different families such as the Montcada or Castellvell. The wine tradition is deeply rooted in the population. It is worth visiting some of the wineries and caves that are found throughout the area. Some of the best known are Mont Marçal, Joan Sardà or Bolet.
Walking around the streets of Castellví de la Marca you will find buildings and historical elements of great interest. In one of the highest areas of the town are the remains of the old chapel of Sant Miquel and part of a walled enclosure that still preserves the tribute tower. The whole complex dates from the 10th century. On the other hand, throughout the area there are several farmhouses that have great historical and artistic interest. Don't forget to visit the hermitage of the Vinyet, an 11th century building.
Castellví de la Marca has an environment where you can do very interesting activities. We recommend that you take a trip to the Castellot. It is a natural viewpoint that is located at about 465 meters above sea level. From its location you can enjoy magnificent views of the entire Penedesense plain as well as the Litoral and Prelitoral mountain range. You can access the viewpoint both on foot and by vehicle through a forest track.
