Sorry, but we don't have any accommodation near Canejan
The history of Canejan dates back to the 1st century AD with the presence of a Roman camp in the area. The town still preserves the Romanesque bridge through which a Roman road once passed that reached Tarragona. You can take advantage of your stay to visit La Pelarica. It is a viewpoint that has a stone house from where you can enjoy views of the Garona valley or the Maladeta peak. On the other hand, don't miss tasting typical Aranese dishes such as truhada or sanganheta.
From the center of Canejan, many paths lead into its natural surroundings. You can take the opportunity to climb one of its peaks such as Cauhilha or Muntanhola and enjoy magnificent views. One of the best known routes is the Camí des Creus. It reaches Porcingles and ends at a mountain where you will see a large iron cross.
Canejan stands out for preserving a historical heritage of great value. One of the most important buildings is the church of Sant Sernilh. It has a Romanesque base that was reformed in 1818. Inside, it still has a marble holy water basin decorated with an Agnus Dei. Very close to the church is the house of Sirat, an old defense tower dating from the 16th century.
