What can you do in Bellvís and its Holiday cottages?

The name Bellvís comes from the Latin bellu visu which means beautiful view. An event that marked the history of Bellvís is the appearance of Our Lady of the Sogues in 1190 to a farmer. This fact led to the construction of a sanctuary where the Virgin appeared. In the War of the Reapers and the War of Succession it suffered many lootings. As Bellvís is on flat ground , you can go for bike rides and follow a part of the Urgell canal.

Popular traditions are deeply rooted in the village. Many activities are organized during the fiesta major, such as folk dances or concerts. Another well-known event is the Fairs. In this festival, a medieval market, popular dances are organized and there is also a representation of the legend of the ring of Cal Bufalà

Discover its historical heritage

Bellvís has an important cultural heritage. One of the most well-known buildings in the town is the church of Our Lady of the Assumption. It dates from 1848 and is of neoclassical style. Very close to the church in Carrer Major you will see a set of old houses. Some of the most prominent are cal Bufalà and cal Borràs. Another place you can see is the Miracle, a space where there is a picnic area and a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Sogues.
