The first news about Bellvei appeared in the second half of the 11th century. During the Middle Ages, several buildings were built that are still preserved today. If you walk through the historic center of the town you will be able to see part of its medieval heritage.

Bellvei is a municipality with a long historical tradition. You can see its medieval tradition in the Bellvei tower, a building that was partially redone in 1932. You also have the old Muga castle , a building of which only a square tower and two cylindrical ones remain.

The parish church of Santa Maria is another of its most representative buildings. Its construction was carried out at the beginning of the 17th century. The building has only one nave and several side chapels.

Being located in a rural area where vine crops abound, Bellvei has many paths that cross its fields. Many of the routes you will find are signposted and pass through paths that are very flat, so you can go on excursions with the whole family.
