Batea is an agricultural town that stands out for having high quality wine and oil. If you visit one of the wineries in the municipality , you can learn about their facilities and taste their wines. As it is located in a mountainous area, you can do several hiking routes by mountain bike and enjoy nature.

Batea is a municipality that has been inhabited by different peoples such as the Greeks, Phoenicians and Romans. In the Reconquest it was under Templar rule and later passed into the hands of the Hospitallers.

The historic center of Batea was surrounded by a deep wall in the 19th century. Currently, three portals and a part of the wall are still preserved. Another of the best-known buildings is the església de Sant Miquel Arcàngel. It was built in the 17th century and combines the baroque style with the neoclassical. If you like prehistory, in the Iberian town of Tossal you will find Iron Age settlements.

The wine culture is deeply rooted in Batea. In fact, there are more than 4000 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of vines. On the Wine Route you can make an itinerary in which you can visit several wineries in the municipality and see what the entire wine production and packaging process looks like.
