Sorry, but we don't have any accommodation near Basturs
The history of Basturs dates back to the Middle Ages. Its main economic activity is agriculture, with cereal fields and vineyards. During the Spanish Civil War it was the scene of heavy fighting. Some trenches and bunkers can still be seen today.
The natural environment of Basturs stands out for its beauty and uniqueness. One of the best-known places in the town are the Basturs ponds. This area is made up of a group of ponds of karst origin. Within the ponds there are different species of unicellular algae. In fact, a specimen has been found that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. One of the attractions of the area is that there is a walking area from which you can see birds.
Basturs is a small municipality. Nevertheless, it preserves some buildings and monuments of great historical value. One of the most important buildings in the town is the parish church of Sant Julià. Its style is Romanesque and it is currently managed by the rector of Isona. The ruins of the old castle are also preserved, a clear vestige of Basturs' medieval past. Be sure to visit the remains of the hermitage of Our Lady of Vilavella, a building located in a unique environment.
