What can you do in Arsèguel and its Holiday cottages?

Walking through Arsèguel you can see a historic center with narrow streets and stone houses with wooden balconies and medieval architecture that is in a very good state of conservation. We recommend that you visit the church of Santa Coloma, a meeting point for farmers and residents of the municipality. From the center of the town there are several paths for walking or cycling that cross beautiful forests.

Visit the wool factory

The Arsèguel wool factory is a clear example of how alternative energies were used during the 18th century. In order to function, the factory uses water that comes from the Segre River through a canal. Within its facilities you can see textile machinery such as a spinning machine, a wool carder or a drapery mill. Currently, garments such as socks, boots or shepherd's blankets are manufactured.

Discover its musical heritage

Music is part of Arsèguel's cultural heritage. In the Accordion Museum you can see an exhibition of different instruments such as melodions, concertinas or bandoneons. Many are manufactured in 1840 and therefore have a lot of value. During the visit you will be able to learn about the history of these instruments and their importance in popular culture. If you want to enjoy live music, during the month of July accordionists from all over the world gather to play old compositions.
