The proximity of Arres de Jos to the Garona river allows you to do water activities such as rafting, kayaking or canoeing. In the winter you can do mountain skiing or a snowmobile excursion. Throughout the territory you will also find paths and trails that go into its forests and reach neighboring towns such as Benós or Arró. Be sure to visit the Aiguedau forest, a beech and oak forest where there are many springs.
One of the most important historical buildings in Arres de Jos is the church of Sant Fabià. It was built in the 11th century and is one of the oldest in the Vall d'Aran. The building has a single nave and has small dimensions. On one of its walls there is a Roman stele that has a relief with human faces.
The natural surroundings of Arres de Jos invite you to plan excursions. One of the places you can visit is the Bassa d'Arres. It is a clearing in the forest in which there is a pond and a spring. There is also an area equipped with tables where you can have a picnic and from which you can enjoy exceptional views of the area.
