Sorry, but we don't have any accommodation near Alt Àneu
The first written documents that refer to Alt Àneu are from the 9th century. The peace and tranquility that reigns in the atmosphere makes it a perfect place to rest and enjoy nature. Be sure to try the gastronomy based on traditional Catalan dishes.
The Romanesque style has left a strong mark on Alt Àneu. One of the most emblematic buildings is the parish church of Sant Andreu. It is a construction that, although it has a Romanesque origin, currently shows a Baroque style. Its octagonal bell tower from the 18th century stands out. You must also visit the church of Sant Joan d'Isil, which dates from the 12th century. As a fact of interest you should know that it was built on an old Benedictine monastery.
The town of Alt Àneu is next to the National Park of Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici. This means that you can take numerous hiking routes that allow you to discover unique places. If you want to see high mountain peaks you can visit the Bassiero or the tuc de la Llança. On the other hand, there are routes that go along old roads and that reach towns such as Esterri d'Àneu. There are also itineraries that can be done by mountain bike or all-terrain vehicle and that reach places such as the port of Bonaigua.
