El Portaló is located in Cantallops, in a privileged location in the heart of the Albera Natural Park from where you can see the Bay of Roses and is just a few kilometers from the border with France. Cantallops is a village surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. The house has been restored following bio-sustainable criteria, using natural materials for all its finishes such as slate floors, natural plaster for the walls, and a chlorine-free pool (with salt electrolysis). "Feng-shui" concepts have been used to set the mood of the spaces, respecting the elements of the original architecture.
The house consists of two
buildings: the
main house and an
independent studio bedroom with access from the garden. The entire house has
electric heating and
wifi.
The
main house has 2 floors with
3 bedrooms (two doubles and one triple) and 2
bathrooms. On the
ground floor, we find a
triple bedroom, a
TV room, a
dining room combined with the
kitchen and direct access to the garden that leads us to a terrace with a pergola. On the
first floor, we find
2 double bedrooms, a
living room with a fireplace and a billiard table. The first-floor rooms have ceiling fans, as do the living room and dining room.
In the
second building, we find a
quadruple room equipped with
air conditioning and with a
full bathroom. Access is by external stairs from the garden.
On the
exterior, we find a large
garden with a
swimming pool and various covered areas. The main one is a l
arge porch with barbecue and space for gathering, another porch with a brick dome at the exit of the dining room-kitchen, making it an ideal space for relaxation and breakfast in the garden.
In 2019, it won the award for the best sustainable villa at the
Girona Apartments and Holiday Homes Awards.
