Can Fort
"Magnificent panoramic views of the Pla de l'Estany region"
Can Fort is the ancestral home of the Fort family, a family with over 7 centuries of history, now reaching its 27th generation. This latest generation has carefully restored the house, which
dates back to the early 16th century, preserving its
original essence and materials.
The house features
spacious common rooms and large outdoor spaces with a private garden and pool,
5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms (one with a whirlpool tub).
Entering the house through the main door, you access the lobby of the
ground floor, where there is a
game room equipped with a pool table and foosball under a spectacular Catalan vault ceiling.
Access to the
first floor, where all the living areas and bedrooms are located, is via the games room using the house’s
original, old-style staircase, which
may be inconvenient for people with reduced mobility.
On the
first floor, there are
2 living rooms with sofas, TV and DVD (one with a fireplace),
2 shared bathrooms, and
5 bedrooms: two double bedrooms (one with private bathrooms), a quadruple bedroom also with its own private bathroom and two triple bedroom. Following the corridor, you arrive at the large
fully equipped kitchen, which combines three areas: the kitchen zone, the
indoor dining room and a cozy corner with a
fireplace. From the kitchen, there is access to a spectacular
covered terrace with the
barbecue area and the outdoor dining area to dine as a group, enjoying incredible panoramic views of the surroundings.
From the kitchen, descending a few stairs, you will find the
ping-pong room, which leads directly to the outdoor garden, and the swimming pool.
You can
access the swimming pool and the house's garden by two routes: either by descending the stairs from the kitchen and leaving through the door of the ping-pong room (without leaving the property), or by crossing the street going out the front door of the house and coming in through the garden's exterior door (this option requires leaving the house, but the outdoor space is large, safe, and very inviting).
The
outdoors of the house is equipped with a large
garden, a
swimming pool area with a safety fence, and an
outdoor play area with a goal and a volleyball net.
In 2023, it won the award for best historical tourist accommodation at the
Girona Awards for Vacation Villages and Apartments.
