Olot and its volcanic environment
One of the singularities of the town of Olot lies in the fact that it is located between four volcanoes: the Montolivet, the Montsacopa, the Garrinada and the Bisaroques. At 500 meters above sea level, the Garrotxa region has at least 45 volcanoes, few of which have been studied in great detail. The three best known volcanoes are Montsacopa, Santa Margarida and Croscat. Despite having a global analysis of the whole volcanic area, many more resources are needed to be able to analyze each of the volcanoes in detail.

Visit the museums of Olot, such as that of Garrotxa
When you go to a city for the first time, it is essential to get to know it thoroughly in order to understand and enjoy it. The same applies to Olot. Visiting one of its museums, even if they are not too well known, is a good way to get to know the city. The Garrotxa museum, which was previously called Museo Comarcal de la Garrotxa, houses various artistic works of Catalan painting, but mainly from the area of Olot. In January 2017 it closed temporarily, but at the beginning of April it reopened, inaugurating a permanent exhibition, which focuses on the artistic history of the city and its art school.
A good option is also the Museu dels Sants d'Olot. It was one of the first religious imagery workshops, specifically this one was founded in 1880. Currently, the museum shows how this workshop was used: the process of making religious images and their context. In addition, there is also a room focused on collections of images of saints and the Easter festivities.
