This year surely one or more of us has been saved from the mental turmoil that invades us via mindfulness. We are very lucky to have our rural houses very close to many natural areas along Girona and Costa Brava, and practising mindfulness in them will be easier for you than in the middle of big cities. Health is key, and having good physical and mental health is just as important. In fact, from our point of view, they go hand in hand and one takes you to the other. The Romans already said it: "mens sana in corpore sano".

That's why we share our favourite places where you can enjoy a good mindfulness session. Grab a nice pillow to sit on and feel your breath.

1. In front of La Rosaleda fountain, in La Devesa (Girona)

Entering La Rosaleda on the left you will find this imposing fountain full of nature where, if you sit nearby to meditate, you will feel the constant dripping of falling water. It is an ideal place for hot days, as you will find a nice shade.

2. On the Montsacopa volcano


In Olot, a 20-minute walk will take you to the top of the volcano. An area where you will enjoy good views of the village and from where the silence will surely make you enjoy a good introspection.

3. At the viewpoint of La Quaranya, in the lake of Banyoles


On the other side of the Banys Vells of Lake Banyoles we find the viewpoint of La Quaranya. It is an ideal place to observe the native vegetation and fauna of the place, to sit and to close your eyes and relax.

4. On a log in the Gola del Ter beach


The Mediterranean, as it passes through the Ter river gorge, drags, during its storms, numerous logs embellished by the sea. Many people are dedicated to making constructions of teepees and huts, and being a natural space, these tend to be perennial over time. If you find one made, you can go inside and from there do a good meditation session.

5. In the gardens of our Naturaki houses


All our houses are located in places where tranquillity is the protagonist. Therefore, the gardens and courtyards of all our homes are an ideal place to recover from this dizzying and uncertain pace that we have been carrying in recent months. By the pool, under centuries-old trees, on the sun-heated lawn... What more could you need?

6. At the top of Montgrí Castle


Nothing better than a good rest after a climb to the Castle. On one of the terraces of the castle wall, if you don’t find many people there, it’s a perfect place to sit for a mindfulness session while the breeze caresses your face.


7. On the stones of the Muga stream


One of our favorite streams. Next to Can Martinot, la casa del riu, you will find some of the best gorges in the area, where the water has a paradisiacal color and where you can take advantage of the calm that the murmur of the river gives you along with your breathing.

8. On one of the benches in the Jardí dels Alemanys


In the heart of the Old Town of Girona, the Jardins dels Alemanys (Garden of the German People) become a place full of history from where the views of the city of Girona are amazing, especially if you go up to the Torre del Llamp. Sitting on one of its characteristic blue benches, you can enjoy a meditation session surrounded by history and nature, all within walking distance of the city!

9. On the pebbles of the Vilert stream


Very close to La Calma de Rita, Can Sot, El Paller, Can Prat Rural and Cal Pastor, is the Vilert stream, a pleasant river where you can walk along its banks and where you can hear the birds singing while connect with yourself.

10. At the tip of Cap de Vol


A virgin pebble beach and a bucolic ring road await you in winter and summer in this place. If you love the beach, you will love to enjoy this magical point of the Alt Empordà. If you are staying at La Caseta del Mar, you only have to walk 300 meters to get there, sit in a comfortable place and put your mind blank.

This year, more than ever, we need to meditate, we need to listen to our minds, let ourselves feel all the emotions that come out of us and try not to let stress and uncertainty win us over.
